Pond Pumps
Pond pumps are highly recommended, even if you don’t
have a waterfall or fountain. They can be found in a number of different
sizes and varieties, depending on the needs of your particular pond.
Pumps are usually sold with an electrical cord, but some basic wiring
might have to be done depending on the design of the pond.
If you do have a waterfall or fountain, you’ll want to investigate
high volume pond pumps. These pumps are designed to move large quantities
of water, which is required for a properly working waterfall. They tend
to be more expensive than smaller pumps, but are a recommended expense.
Smaller pond pumps are ideal for a basic filtration system. Unlike
waterfalls and fountains, a filtration system can work effectively with
a weaker flow of water. In many cases an inexpensive pump will do the
trick.
